Hike around the crater and inside the protected area with endemic vegetation of Lagoa do Fogo

Lagoa do Fogo, considered one of the seven wonders of Portugal, offers a multitude of hiking possibilities. These programs are a circular trails that lead us to the shores of the lake. The half-day plus starts on the south side of the crater going up through pastures of lush green grass and patches of endemic forest until we reach the waters of the lake and on the way down we follow an old water path, complemented with stunning views of the south shore. Starting on the north side, the half day program, will get you deep into valleys filled with lush endemic flora and through woods of Japanese cedar, ultimately leading to the clear waters of Lagoa do Fogo lake.
